ALP Forest – lightweight quick-fitting crampons
Quick-fit crampons consisting of an elastomer interconnected to a subscarpa structure made through a combination of chain elements, connections and crimped plates in high-strength steel. The crampons allow you to move in perfect safety on snow-covered, icy and low-grip terrain (undergrowth with mud, foliage, etc.).
Particularly suitable for winter trekking, light mountaineering, and for forest work . They are suitable for all outdoor and leisure activities.
- Heat-treated sealing plates for greater mechanical strength.
- Elastomer in hi-tech silicone material, tested at -60 ° C, which guarantees a rapt fit, comfort and excellent performance; the constant tension between the elastomer and the metal parts ensures a perfect adherence of the anti-slip system to the sole of the shoe.
- Over-foot Velcro seal for added security.
- 13 spikes of variable length (from 7 to 17 mm) for optimal grip in different conditions of use; the articulated front plates prevent the accumulation of snow and ice in the crampon and between the crampon and the sole of the shoe.
The product is supplied in a practical and resistant polyester case and is sold in a cardboard box.
The crampon is available in three sizes, for shoes from 35 to 48 (US 3.5 – 13).
The crampons or micro crampons (micro crampons) are anti-slip devices for footwear. They are distinguished by the classic cramps by their reduced weight and overall dimensions by their ease of fit. The micro-cramps were not developed for climbing, but for snow, ice, mud, wet grass, etc.
The micro-crampons consist of a lower part (entirely metal or partly metal and partly plastic), in contact between the sole of the shoe and the ground, which performs the anti-slip function and from an upper part, in elastic material, which holds the micro crampon on the shoe.
A pair of micro crampons generally weighs from 450 grams for hiking and winter trekking, to only 180 grams for models of winter running and competitions.
The micro crampons, therefore, to the various uses: from hiking to outdoor work activities; from running in a winter environment or slippery terrain to Nordic walking; to walk or walk around safely when ice or snow is present.
They are therefore useful for walking on wet grassy soils, on soft, muddy or slippery soils. They are not particularly suitable for hard surfaces, there is a risk of slipping on these surfaces.
How it fits
Before any use it is necessary to visually check that the micro-cramps are damaged and therefore that their functionality is guaranteed if damage to the metal is visible, the product must be used longer.
Before use, make sure that you have correctly fitted the micro-cramps and you need to test them to check that they are effective in relation to the terrain you want to tackle.
It is important to make sure that the micro crampon is suitable for the shoe (see page 5) on which it will be used and that the positioning of the micro crampon on the shoe takes place correctly: l Elastic must never come into contact with the sun of the shoe and the components of the micro crampon must be subject to a light and uniform tension.
Guide to choosing the size
